I was born and raised in Independence, Missouri, went to high school, college and medical school in down town Kansas City, Missouri. I completed my residency training in family medicine at the Mayo St. Francis Family Practice Residency in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. I worked as a full-time emergency-room physician in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin for a year, then moved to Grand Forks, ND with my new husband, Paul Towner MD. I practiced full-time as a family physician as well as being an associate professor of medicine at UND. After Major Towner separated from the Air Force, we moved to Washington to set up practice and put down roots. Since moving here, we have added two daughters, Ruth in 1998 and Rose in 2001 to our family as well as a menagerie of critters. My parents were gracious enough to move here to help us raise the girls so we joined the ranks of three generation Washington families in 2001. I enjoy all sorts of crafting including paper arts, quilting and computer graphics. I love bright colors and enjoy seeing people blossom into their potential. am humbled by my calling to be a healer and I am thankful that God is patient with my foibles and faults. |
